Charlena practice primarily focuses on abstracting elements of her surroundings, allowing her to be creative and fluid within her making. Along the side of this medium, she prefers to work in is with acrylic paint. She lets her self be influenced by the world around her, from landscapes to music, lights, colour, architect and emotions. Through depicting these subject within her work, Charlena aims to create an element of curiosity from exploring the emotional links between these form and how it evokes a connection within society in which these factors help in informs the design in her abstract work.

This transformation of the formal elements creates a responsive, vibrant effect in which she has created a series of paintings and sculptures allowing the audience to engage with her work.  Charlena considers art as an expression which she says "It gives you the chance to be yourself and be free in means that there is no discipline when it comes to creativity. This allows me to be in control through the fluidity of the elements."

Conceptually driven by new mediums and learning new artistic methods it has led Charlena Into making an installation for her current practice, combining 2d and 3d mediums which is intended to transform into a set design through fabricating elements with mix media techniques. This project is rooted to create the seen world by abstracting forms and turn them into a large-scale sculptures sets through also using colour and light.

When creating her own work, Charlena deliberately allows for the work to be ambiguous. As it  allows the audience to interpret and forge their own opinion about what the true narrative of the work is.
